Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about shower regrouting, balcony resealing and our 5 year warranty. Can't find your answer? Send us a photo and we'll tell you exactly what's going on.

Shower Repair

Will you need to remove my tiles?+

No. In almost every case the leak is caused by failed grout and silicone, not the membrane underneath. We remove the old grout, reseal with Mapei Epoxy Grout, and your tiles stay exactly where they are.

How do I know whether I need a Full Seal, Base Seal or Re-Silicone?+

Use the signs above as a guide, or just send us photos of the full shower, the wall grout and the floor grout. We'll tell you exactly what it needs and give you a fixed price, no obligation.

How long does the repair take?+

A Full Seal is around 4 hours, a Base Seal 2–3 hours, and a Re-Silicone about 1 hour. Showers are generally ready to use again the next day.

What's the difference between epoxy grout and cement grout?+

Cement grout is porous and absorbs water, which is why it cracks, stains and grows mould. Mapei Epoxy Grout is virtually waterproof, flexible enough to move with the building, and resists mould, which is why we back it with a 5 year warranty.

What if the leak comes back?+

Our grout and epoxy work is covered by a 5 year warranty and silicone is covered for 24 months. If a covered area fails within the warranty period, we come back and repair or replace it at no cost. Full details are on our warranty page.

Balcony & Other Areas

Do you have to remove the tiles to fix a leaking balcony?+

In most cases, no. Like showers, the majority of balcony leaks come from failed grout and joints rather than the waterproofing membrane itself. We reseal from the top wherever possible, saving you the cost and disruption of a full retile. We'll always tell you upfront if the membrane is compromised and full tile removal is necessary.

What tiled areas can you reseal?+

Balconies, kitchens, laundries, alfresco and outdoor entertaining areas, pool surrounds, common hallways and stairwells. Essentially any tiled surface where grout has failed or water is getting through. If you're not sure whether we can help, just send us a photo and we'll tell you.

How long does a balcony repair take?+

It depends on the size and the condition of the area. Small balconies can often be done in half a day; larger or more complex areas may need a full day or more. We'll give you an exact timeframe with your fixed-price quote so there are no surprises on the day.

Do you work with real estates, strata managers and builders?+

Yes, we regularly handle balcony and wet-area repairs for real estate agencies, property managers, strata companies and builders across the Gold Coast. We're experienced with tenant liaison and completion timelines. See the "Who We Work With" section above for more detail.

Will my balcony leak again after resealing?+

Not if the waterproofing membrane underneath is intact. We reseal using premium materials rated for outdoor and constant water exposure, and all balcony repairs are backed by our 5 year warranty. If the membrane has been compromised and further leaks occur within the warranty period, we come back and fix it.

How do I get a price?+

The fastest way is to use the price guide above to get a starting range, then send us photos of the area: a wide shot plus close-ups of any failing grout or joints, and we'll come back with a fixed price within 24 hours. Alternatively, book a free onsite assessment and we'll come and take a look in person.

Warranty

When does my warranty start?+

Your warranty starts on the day the job is completed. Your shower is ready to use 24 hours after we finish.

What if the leak comes back?+

If a leak comes back because our grout, epoxy or silicone has failed to hold its waterproof seal, that's exactly what the warranty is for: we repair or replace the affected areas at no cost. Leaks caused by pre-existing structural issues, failed membranes or plumbing sit outside the warranty.

Where can I read the full terms?+

The coverage, exclusions and care conditions on this page are the key terms of our warranty, and the full details are set out in our terms and conditions. If you have any questions about what's covered, just ask, we're happy to walk you through it before you book.

Still Got A Question?

Send us a few photos of the area and we'll come back with a straight answer and a fixed price, no obligation.
